The Chapiteau makes way for an open-air stage

The Paléo Festival has decided to make major changes to three of its venues. The changes are all designed to improve listening and viewing conditions for the concerts.

For several years, it had been observed that certain federative concerts attracted more people than the Chapiteau (8000 seats) could accommodate. On discovering the Chapiteau, the organizers decided to make it possible for as many people as possible to attend these shows in the best possible conditions, turning it into a second open-air stage with a capacity of around 12,000.

Following a series of consultations, including a survey involving over 7,000 Internet users, this new stage now has a name: "Les Arches", a reference to the bridge under which the public pass as they enter the Festival, in the immediate vicinity of this new scenic venue.

The Club Tent (2000 seats) was also found to be too small for certain concerts. The organization therefore decided to transfer the programming of this stage to Le Détour, in a version with a capacity increased from 500 to 3000.

Between 2008 and 2012, Le Détour played host to new talent. This role has now been entrusted to Club Tent, the new meeting place for Swiss and foreign discoveries. Located on a high-traffic axis, the Club Tent should offer its artists excellent exposure.

The program for the 2013 edition of the festival will be unveiled on April 16.
