A festival for women

A regular autumn event in Onex (GE), the "Les Créatives" festival is a committed celebration of women's creativity, focusing on its essential values: independence, freedom of expression, openness to the world and a harmonious program of renowned artists and those yet to be discovered.

Akua Naru, one of this year's artists.

The festival has been running for nine years. Multi-disciplinary, though predominantly musical, it also organizes film screenings, round-table discussions, exhibitions and workshops. The objectives of an all-female program are to create exchanges, promote tolerance and integration, combat the return of machismo, support active, independent women artists and introduce them to the public.

The 2013 program will run from November 13 to 16 at several venues in the Canton of Geneva. For the 9th edition, the program gives pride of place to the new national and international music scene. The majority of concerts take place in two venues in the commune of Onex, but the Chat Noir, la Gravière and the communes of Plan-Les-Ouates and Collonge-Bellerive also offer shows or concerts as part of their cultural activities.
For the third year, a competition open to young Swiss talent was organized via the MX3 music website. This year, three artists or groups were selected.

The 2013 program includes: Emilie Gassin, les Chicklettes, Soraya Ksontini, Nanna.B, Elisa Jo, Maïa Vidal, The Staches, Alkalines, Alice Francis, Ebony Bones!, Caramelbrown, Laetitia Dana and Akua Naru.
