Tens of thousands of people attended the 23rd Fête de la Musique in Geneva, where some 6,000 musicians performed on the 33 stages scattered around the city.

The 558 concerts were well attended, note the organizers, who also point out that over 800 people attended the multi-disciplinary show put on by Eklekto, the former Geneva Percussion Center, in the Cour des Casemates.

40,000 people in Lausanne
In Lausanne, 40,000 people attended concerts in the city. Clement weather kept attendance steady over the three days, despite a drop in attendance on Friday evening due to the Switzerland-France World Cup soccer match.

The same "World Cup" effect was observed in Neuchâtel, but the public turned out in greater numbers on Saturday to listen to the 40 or so artists present.
