The Holy Groove Festival takes over several clubs in Lausanne from October 6 to 9, featuring bands you won't see anywhere else. Don't know them? Never mind, the aim of the program is to help you discover and share funk and soul music talent, wherever you find it. From local bands to young Russian acts, and Nigerian Afro-soul legends such as Orlando Julius.

Four days, three evenings and three different moods. Thursday evening will be devoted to instrumental funk rock, Friday to funk & soul vocals, and Saturday to Afro and disco. And as the festival seeks to promote groove beyond the concerts and parties, it also features a photo exhibition, a conference on the history of vinyl led by passionate Couleur3 presenter Ellen Ichters on Saturday afternoon, and a film screening in tribute to the Blaxploitation on Sunday afternoon to round off the festivities.

The festival will take place on Thursday evening at the Cave du Bleu Lézard, Friday evening at Le Bourg, Saturday afternoon at La Datcha, Saturday evening at Le Romandie and Sunday afternoon again at the Cave du Bleu Lézard. This year's guest bands are Kind & Kinky Zoo (CH), Calibro 35 (IT), The Milk (UK), The Soul Surfers (RU), Family Atlantica (VE/UK/GH/NG), Orlando Julius (NG) accompanied by Heliocentrics (UK). Keeping the party going into the wee hours are DJs Nick Recordkicks (IT), The Hot Peas & Butta (US/DE), Wasulu Selecta (CH) and Al Kent (UK).
