Daniel Rossellat had practically let the cat out of the bag by announcing a spicy program on his Facebook page a few hours before the official announcement: the Red Hot Chili Peppers will be on hand. The program will feature a mix of big names and new discoveries in rock, pop, electro, hip-hop, chanson and world music. The Village du Monde will showcase the exceptional cultural and musical diversity of Central America. Tickets and subscriptions go on sale on Wednesday April 5 at 12 noon on paleo.ch and at the usual sales outlets.

The 2017 edition will open with rock greats Red Hot Chili Peppers, flamboyant Arcade Fire and England's Foals. Pixies and Midnight Oil will set the Grand Scène alight with their hits that have influenced several generations, while the new generation will be represented by Shame, Pogo Car Crash Control and Nova Twins.

Hip-hop takes center stage with Americans Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, before heading to France with Black M. Keny Arkana and his subversive rap will take us to meet up-and-coming talents such as Georgio, Vald and KT Gorique, who each take a critical look at the world in their own way, and the duo AllttA, who extract the very essence of hip-hop to deliver a unique sound.

An intergenerational voice, Renaud paves the way for a highly diverse French-language scene, represented by Christophe Maé's adventurous pop chanson, Tryo's festive reggae-tinged compositions, I Muvrini's Corsican polyphonies, Vianney's tender melodies and Julien Doré's poetic pop. The French language will be the subject of musical exploration with the whimsical performer Camille, the graceful folk of Barbagallo and the acid pop of Nicolas Michaux.

The musical journey continues with a festival of mixes: Jamiroquai, Manu Chao La Ventura and Imany.

Heading for Central America
For its 15th edition, the Village du Monde welcomes Central America. From Mexico to Venezuela, via Costa Rica, Honduras, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago and Puerto Rico, the Village will be showcasing the exceptional cultural diversity of these different regions, with a particular focus on artists who incorporate electro, rock or rap into their creations.

The journey will come to an end on Sunday with fireworks after a concert by the Geneva Chamber Orchestra, who will have the honor of performing the most beautiful classical hits, from Handel to Bernstein, via the great masters Mozart and Beethoven, not forgetting Prokofiev and Shostakovich. These works will be presented with panache and humor by comedian Joan Mompart. An unforgettable concert for all audiences.

Hosting
New this year: in its constant effort to improve the comfort of festival-goers, and in response to strong public demand, Paléo is pleased to offer a new accommodation solution alongside its free camping offer. From colorful wooden maisonnettes to yurt-style tents, visitors will be able to enjoy an unusual experience in a small village located in the heart of the campsite, in the immediate vicinity of the Festival.
