Priority support for jazz
Pro Helvetia selects selected Swiss jazz orchestras and concludes three-year agreements with them.
The aim of this "Priority jazz promotion" is to facilitate the planning of foreign tours for Swiss jazz groups, while reducing the administrative burden on partners on both sides.
Only young bands with proven expertise, who already enjoy a reputation within the Swiss music scene, and whose aim is to develop and strengthen their international presence, will be considered.
Conditions
Ensembles are eligible to apply:
- who are recognized as leading exponents of contemporary jazz and perform regularly in Switzerland's different language regions;
- whose repertoire includes self-composed pieces;
- who have successfully completed at least two international tours;
- who have a clear career plan;
- professionally managed;
- whose records are distributed worldwide.
How to apply
Applications for support under the "Priority jazz promotion" scheme must be submitted via the Swiss Arts Council's online portal: www.myprohelvetia.ch.
