From Stephan Eicher to Stevie Wonder

The arrival of Stevie Wonder was the missing chapter in the Festival's book of founding music. For this 48th edition, one of Claude Nobs' great dreams comes true. But the Montreux jazz line-up has other assets.

The festival continues its dialogue with all generations of music on the move, with Pharrell Williams, Massive Attack, Robert Plant, Stephan Eicher, Jamie Cullum, Herbie Hancock & Wayne Shorter, Van Morrison, -M-, among other artists appearing on the Auditorium Stravinsky stage.

Last year's opening of the Montreux Jazz Club was much appreciated by the public and the artists, some of whom expressly asked to perform there. Jack DeJohnette with Ravi Coltrane and Matt Garrison, John Scofield, Terri Lyne Carrington, Ayo, Hiromi and Thomas Dutronc, among others.

As for the Lab, it's a breeding ground for buzz-worthy sounds, emerging bands and exceptional icons including Metronomy , Etienne Daho, London Grammar, Ricardo Villalobos, Darkside, Mighty Oaks, Fauve ≠, and many more.

Two "jazz metts classic" concerts are also worth noting: on July 12, a carte blanche around Prokofiev with Leszek Mozdzer, and on July 19 a concert from Mozart to Ellington with Yaron Herman and David Greilsammer.
