This year's Cully Jazz Festival presents some of the most emblematic figures of the younger generation of jazzmen. Starting with Gregory Porter. Pianists such as Brad Mehldau and Shai Maestro will perform in trio. Saxophonist Joshua Redman will close the Festival with his trio, alongside Daniel Humair, who has chosen to surround himself with young French artists.

Lisa Simone, only daughter of Nina Simone, has waited 52 years to finally reveal herself. Following the release of her internationally acclaimed album, she will give her first Swiss concert in Cully. Blues is always present at the Festival, with the warm, powerful voice of Big Daddy Wilson, singer Pura Fé delivering a poignant tribute to her Amerindian ancestors, and guitarist John Scofield's brand-new project dedicated to the music of New Orleans, performing in duo with pianist and singer Jon Cleary.

Discoveries and unclassifiable artists

Alongside these jazz behemoths, the programmers also want to showcase artists who dare musical confrontations of all kinds. These include GoGo Penguin, Dorian Wood, Colin Stetson & Sarah Neufeld and Dan Tepfer, among others.

And a few Swiss

Cully Jazz welcomes eleven Swiss bands this year. Among them, Stephan Eicher has chosen Lavaux to inaugurate his brand new show in Switzerland, in which he is accompanied by musical automatons in a surprising scenography.

As part of the Festival OFF, Matthieu Llodra's legendary trio will set the tone at the Caveau des Vignerons. Le Jardin will host Olivier Magarotto's hypnotic Quarkstet project.
