Swiss Jazz Prize for Bruno Spoerri

Bruno Spoerri has won the 2017 Swiss Jazz Award. For this 11th edition, the jury decided not to organize a public vote, but to directly reward the work of a Swiss jazz musician. The award will be presented to Bruno Spoerri on June 25, 2017 at the JazzAscona Festival.

At 81, Bruno Spoerri, musician and above all saxophonist, is one of the great names in jazz. A true pioneer of electronic music, he has always been one step ahead. He has performed in a variety of formations alongside renowned musicians, accompanying them in Europe, Asia and Africa.

Spoerri has also made a name for himself as a composer of film music, and has already received numerous awards and distinctions. This year, he has won the Swiss Jazz Award.

Created in 2007 by Radio Swiss Jazz and JazzAscona, with the support of the Migros Culture Percentage, the Swiss Jazz Award aims to promote Swiss jazz.
