Nicati 2013: Contemporary music competition
The 2013 edition of the Nicati Competition will take place in Bern from September 9 to 14. This is Switzerland's most prestigious contemporary music competition, where professional performers compete over a five-day period.
The competition is open to soloists and ensembles. It is open to the public and opens a panoramic window on the musical creativity of our time. Each candidate or ensemble must present at least one work by a Swiss composer. All instruments are accepted, including voice, but with the exception of the organ.
The Nicati competition awards ceremony will take place on September 14, 2013, in the main concert hall of the Bern University of the Arts. This year's jury is made up of Pierre Sublet (chairman), Dieter Ammann, Rahel Cunz, Marc Kissoczy and Philippe Racineaus.
The Nicati Competition is held every two years to encourage contemporary musical creativity. In 2013, the event will be held for the second time as part of the Bern Music Festival.
