A weekend around the NEC

To celebrate its 20th anniversary, Nouvel Ensemble Contemporain is offering a weekend of concerts and musical experiences.

You'll be able to conduct the NEC, build a giant collective instrument, improvise live with the ensemble, chat with the performers, dance, eat and drink, rediscover the posters and documents that mark the NEC's history, and view a photographic suite taken inside the ensemble during NEC tours, concerts and rehearsals.

On September 26, 27 and 28, 2014, the festival will take place in an incredible former locomotive depot in Le Locle.

For the sound construction workshops (Saturday 27), the public is invited to bring their own instruments, their grandmother's kitchen mixer or simply their voice. At the conducting workshop for all (Sunday 28), NEC musicians will be on hand to help budding conductors - children and adults alike - who put themselves forward. Interpretation and composition workshops, DJ sets and a listening lounge will also take place over the weekend, all entirely free of charge.
