On the advice of its professional experts, the Board of the Landis & Gyr Foundation has awarded 26 studio grants in the fields of visual arts, literature, music and cultural criticism. The grants include free use of an apartment, a contribution towards travel expenses and a monthly living allowance.

In the music field, two composition scholarships in London were awarded to Daniel Glaus and Annette Schmucki, and a similar scholarship in Budapest was awarded to Iris Szeghy.

The Landis & Gyr Foundation was founded in 1971. After supporting cultural, scientific and charitable projects mainly in Zug and Central Switzerland, it soon expanded its activities nationally and then internationally. Workshops for artists are one of the Foundation's main priorities. Today, Landis & Gyr offers studio grants in London, Berlin, Budapest, Bucharest and Zug. The studio grants are open to artists and critics of Swiss or other nationality who have been resident in Switzerland for at least three years. Since the start of the workshop program, more than 320 scholarship-holders have benefited from the program. Landis & Gyr pays particular attention to exchanges with Eastern Europe.
