Swiss violinist at Carnegie Hall

Lausanne-based violinist Irene Abrigo performed a Concerto by Dirk Brossé at Carnegie Hall, with the Chamber Orchestra of New York.

Winner of numerous international competitions and of the 2015 Respighi Prize, violinist Irene Abrigo gave the first South American performance of Respighi's Concerto No. 1 last January in Brazil. In February, she performed the Violin Concerto Black, White and in Between by Dirk Brossé in its New York premiere at Carnegie Hall, with the Chamber Orchestra of New York conducted by Salvatore Di Vittorio.

Alongside her international concert activity, Irene Abrigo founded the POURQUOIPAS association in 2015 with Madeleine Murray Robertson. This association organizes concerts and takes care of musical animation for different types of events. The initial idea is to create artistic projects to support art and education. The aim of the association is to offer or produce projects of excellence through artistic innovation, in collaboration with foundations, concert halls, orchestras or festivals that share the same principles and values.
