1st prize for the Vision String Quartet

The jury has announced the winners of the 2016 Quartet Competition: first prize went to the Vision String Quartet (Germany), who also convinced the public by winning the Audience Prize and the "Young Audience" prize.

At the final round of the Quartet Competition, held at Geneva's Victoria Hall on November 27, the three finalists competed in a Beethoven quartet and a Bartók quartet. The Quatuor Hanson (France) took second prize, while third prize went to the Abel Quartet (South Korea).
The string quartet jury members are: Gábor Takács-Nagy (President, Hungary), Shmuel Ashkenasi (USA), Nobuko Imai (Japan), Rafael Rosenfeld (Switzerland), Károly Schranz (Hungary), Jean Sulem (France), David Waterman (Great Britain).

Singing final
The singing final takes place on Friday December 2 at 7pm at Victoria Hall. The 4 shortlisted candidates will perform an opera aria and a lied from a list, plus a piece of their choice (opera, operetta or oratorio aria). They will be accompanied by the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, conducted by Constantin Trinks.
