Certificate in contemporary music

The Haute école de Travail social et de la santé in Lausanne, in partnership with the FCMA, is opening registrations for the second intake of the CAS in sociocultural management in the field of contemporary music.

Professionals are often trained on the job, here at a concert at SAS in Delémont.

The aim of this certificate is to respond to the real need for recognition of professions linked to contemporary music. It is aimed at professionals working in the field who - often trained on the job in a particular sector - wish to acquire additional theoretical and practical knowledge. But it is also aimed at socio-cultural organizers - who are often called upon to organize musical events or programs as part of their duties - who feel the need to develop a global vision of the field. The course is centered on three main areas. The first is dedicated to the history of contemporary music, knowledge of the market and its specific features, the second focuses on the legal and administrative framework, and the third takes a closer look at marketing, communications and sponsorship.

For this second intake, the course will be delivered in Lausanne in the form of modules by experienced lecturers specializing in their respective fields. The session will start in March 2014 and end in March 2015. The course is validated by the award of ECTS credits (15 for the entire CAS). In addition to having a keen interest in the field of contemporary music, participants must hold a university degree or equivalent, and have at least two years' professional experience. The maximum number of participants is limited to 20.
