On the program: four plenary lectures by specialists, parallel sessions of storytelling and analysis of practice by instrument teachers, discussion groups and a plenary synthesis.

Themes
Music schools are increasingly offering instrumental and vocal training in small groups. This colloquium will focus on experiments in group pedagogy with students starting out on an instrument or singing.

Although collective practice has always been widespread, learning within this framework has been somewhat overshadowed by two centuries of predominantly individual teaching in conservatories and music schools. Today, many teachers are rediscovering this tradition and reinventing practices that are conducive to it.

The colloquium will be an opportunity to share these practices, take a step back and discuss the analysis of different pedagogical and didactic activities.

Practice
The symposium will take place on November 4 and 5, 2016 in Geneva. Participants will meet on Friday 4th at the Grande salle du Conservatoire de la Place de Neuve. At the end of the day, participants are invited to The bear who played the pianoA musical creation in 16 tableaux by Thomas Delclaud, presented by Piano en herbe, subject to availability.

The following day, lectures and workshops will be given at the popular Conservatoire CPMDT.
