Institut Jaques-Dalcroze celebrates its 100th anniversary

Deeply rooted in local culture, the venerable Institut Jaques-Dalcroze celebrates its 100th anniversary this year with seven sound-named events.

As its director Silvia Del Bianco reminds us, there are certain stereotypes that still cling to it: farandoles, hoops and tambourines... But the IJD is constantly reinventing itself through creations (shows, off-site performances), exchanges with foreign countries (40 teaching centers around the world) and multiple applications (seniors, disabilities...).

For seven months, from January to July 2015, seven events in a variety of contrasting styles will celebrate the jubilee. All of them have fun, sonorous names: BAMan exhilarating sound exhibition, kicks off the festivities at Carouge's Flux Laboratory. This will be followed by a performance at the Antigel Festival entitled PAFa children's and teenagers' show in the name of and OCDa creation of the Haute Ecole de Musique de Genève CRÔAa party in the form of an art rally POPthe release of an album of songs (by Emile) revisited and performed by a large choir during the Fête de la Musique. PAN in Emileand finally an international congress: WAOUH.

Other events will mark out the 2015 calendar.
