A new website for USDAM

Like the Swiss Music Review online, the USDAM website has undergone a makeover.

USDAM members and non-members alike are strongly advised to take a look at the new website, which went live a few weeks ago. Compared with the old version, the new site's layout and graphics are clearer, and the various sections are easier to access. Page opening speed has also been significantly improved.

One of the highlights of the USDAM website is the rate calculator, particularly appreciated by musicians. They enable you to calculate the minimum amount, as well as social security charges and allowances, for intermittent musical performances performed either as part of an orchestra, or as part of a smaller group or chamber music ensemble. This tool is also invaluable for concert organizers wishing to pay performers fairly, and helps them to draw up a budget with this in mind. The particularly well-developed services tab lists the many advantages of USDAM membership (social security, advice, legal protection, job placement, continuing education, grants, various discounts, including for insurance), while the organization's many commitments are also detailed on specific pages: improving working conditions in the music sector (among other things by negotiating collective bargaining agreements), the tariff order, social security, cultural policy, health and safety, neighbouring rights, networking and international solidarity. Finally, interested parties can apply for membership by filling in a form.

The new website has been designed entirely in four languages (German, French, Italian and English).
