New offer of support for up-and-coming big bands
The association "Joeʼs Youth Jazz Orchestra.ch" was founded this autumn under the impetus of Joe Haider. Its main aim is to promote young jazz talent.

Joeʼs Youth Jazz Orchestra.ch has launched a call for applications from young musicians aged 16 to 22 who are interested in jazz, particularly big band playing and solo improvisation. Residents of Switzerland can apply until July 6, 2024, for auditions to be held in August and September. The idea is to form a big band that will rehearse from October 4 to 10, 2024 in Uster, culminating in a concert.
In addition to Joe Haider, pianist, composer, bandleader and long-time director of the Swiss Jazz School in Berne, the project is co-directed by Claus Reichstaller, Director of the Jazz Institute at Munich University of Music and Theater, and Uster trumpeter Bernhard Schoch. The participants will also be supported by a large team of teachers. Further concerts are planned in Switzerland and neighbouring countries.
