Communication, private education and membership recruitment: current projects of the Central Committee

In view of the ongoing discussions on the future direction of the SSPM, the results of which will be presented at the Presidents' Conference on November 7 and 8, the Central Committee, which was constituted in its current form last May, has decided not to carry out an in-depth analysis or make any decisions on this issue just yet. Instead, it has already launched a number of public relations projects, focusing on the promotion of private education and the search for new members.

New SSPM website: refreshed presentation, section dedicated to private teaching
Announced some time ago, the SSPM's new website went live at the beginning of June with a modernized graphic presentation. The sections devoted to private education and association information are now separate, making them much easier to use. In particular, the aim is to improve the visibility of the private education offering, making the service more attractive to members. Another new feature is the events calendar, which provides information on the activities of the entire SSPM (sections and central committee).
Development of private education
The Central Committee has decided to give priority to developing the part of the website dedicated to private education, and to offering members new opportunities to present themselves and their teaching offers. A CC working group is currently preparing the next steps; among the improvements envisaged is the introduction of photos, videos and audio files. In this way, the SSPM is responding to the increasing presence of other platforms on the Internet. The aim is to provide an online offering that reflects the high quality of SSPM teaching, while being as attractive in its presentation as other online offerings.

Search for members in training centers
The search for new members remains one of the SSPM's top priorities. The demographic evolution of our society, reflected in the low proportion of young members, speaks for itself. Our association urgently needs to welcome young colleagues too. That's why we're planning, wherever possible, to inform music colleges directly about the SSPM and what it has to offer. Here too, a working group has been tasked with drawing up a communication strategy and information material which will be made available to the sections, to support them in their search for members in their region.

Central Committee reports in the RMS
In future, the Central Committee would like to provide more information on the Central Association's projects and discussions in the Swiss Music Review. You will thus be able to read regular reports on meetings in the pages of the SSPM. As space is limited, articles may also be summaries of several meetings.
