A solid network for music teachers
The SSPM, the largest professional association in the field of music education, offers its members a wide range of services and support.
SSPM - As a member of the association, it pays to take advantage of the SSPM's many offers. Financially too: together, they offer savings which, in some cases, can amount to several times the membership fee.
With its certified members and its fee recommendations, the SSPM makes an important contribution to quality assurance and the fight against fee dumping in private music teaching, which has always been an important part of the Swiss music education landscape. Members can create an individual online profile on the "leçonsdemusique.ch" platform for private music instruction. Unlike commercial providers, the SSPM does not charge its members subscription or placement fees.
The central association and the sections regularly offer their members training and courses at very attractive prices. It is also possible to offer courses yourself. The SSPM's sections also offer a wide range of other activities: student concerts, level examinations and competitions round off the offer, providing members with the opportunity to exchange ideas and network with their colleagues. Membership of the SSPM also includes the traditional "Agenda Musique" and a subscription to the Revue Musicale Suisse.
The SSPM offers its members support in matters of employment law, and here we would like to highlight the first free legal consultation open to all members of the association for cases relating to their music teaching activities. This is where our highly discounted legal protection insurance comes into play: one of your private pupils regularly misses music lessons without warning, and doesn't pay the costs of the missed lessons? Does the music school suddenly stop paying your salary due to illness? For these and many other cases, the SSPM has developed legal protection insurance in collaboration with CAP. As for the deterioration or even loss of musical instruments, this can be avoided thanks to Mobiliere's instrument insurance, which offers a discount to members. Discounts on health insurance are offered in collaboration with SWICA and CSS, as well as health and daily allowance insurance through Groupe Mutuel and the "Forte" compensation fund.
Tailor-made pension solutions
As a self-employed member, you have the option of joining the "Musique et Formation" pension fund (2nd pillar). For the 1st pillar, the "Forte" association's compensation fund offers a personal, low-cost, industry-specific solution, which is also state-of-the-art with its online solution.
