Two days of innovation
Day-to-day activities often leave little time for reflection - music school teachers and administrators can make up for this at the Music Education Forum 2025. The event will feature interactive workshops and lectures, complemented by musical productions by young talent.
This is the eleventh time that the Swiss Association of Music Schools has held its "Forum on Music Education" in the geographically convenient town of Baden. This edition will focus on the future of work and artificial intelligence. Raphael Gielgen, trend observer for design furniture brand Vitra, will discuss the lessons learned from his annual visits to around 100 offices and companies. "There are advantages to both preserving and disrupting what has been achieved, and the ideal is to combine the two," he says, for example. Barbara Josef, from the "5-9" company, will focus on organization development.
Richard-Emmanuel Eastes and Gilbert Nouno will present concrete ways in which artificial intelligence can be used in music schools. "I'm delighted to see that these topics will open up a wide range of possibilities," says Philippe Müller, Director of the Cercle Lémanique d'Etudes Musicales and member of the ASEM committee.
Innovative music school projects
The ASEM best practice competition is an illustration of the dynamism and creativity already demonstrated by music schools. A jury has selected ten finalists from among the many projects received, who will be presented at the forum, and several of whom will go home with prizes.
50 years of ASEM
Laureates from all categories of the Swiss Youth Music Competition will be providing welcome musical interludes. A radio bus will also be present: a group of young students from the Baden cantonal school will be hosting radio broadcasts and interviewing passers-by on the theme of the music school. At the same time, the event will kick off the 50th anniversary festivities.e anniversary, culminating on November 19, 2025 at the Hotel National in Berne.
