Georges Starobinski to head Basel Conservatory of Music
Georges Starobinski, pianist, conductor and musicologist from Geneva, has been appointed Director of the Basel University of Music (FHNW).
Georges Starobinski has been teaching musicology since 2004 at the University of Lausanne, as well as at the University of Geneva and EPFL as part of the Polytechnic's College of Humanities.
Born in Geneva - he is the son of Jean Starobinski - Georges Starobinski has lived in Basel for several years. He will take up his new post in September 2013, replacing interim director Stephan Schmid.
