Vaud rhythmicians also celebrate Jaques-Dalcroze
In parallel with the various events organized by the Institut Jaques-Dalcroze in Geneva, rhythmists from the canton of Vaud are also paying tribute to him.

To mark the 150th anniversary of Jaques-Dalcroze's birth, the Association Dalcroze 150, led by Irène Corboz-Hausammann, has organized a festive tribute to Jaques-Dalcroze's creative verve.
The festivities kick off with a bang with Le Tourbillon Jaques-Dalcroze (or the tales of Emile... and a life)which retraces the hectic life of Jaques-Dalcroze in a series of colorful tableaux. The show premieres on October 3 at the Théâtre du Jorat, Mézières, and is then presented at the Maison du Peuple, Biel, on October 9 and 10.
The multidisciplinary Dalcroze 150 project showcases the many facets of the French-speaking artist's work. His verve and corrosive humor will hit home in the Cabaret Jaques-Dalcrozewith Camille Favre-Bulle, Pascal Schopfer and Pascal Danet, directed by Olivier Périat. The show will premiere in Bienne, before going on tour in French-speaking Switzerland. Last but not least, the Sinfonietta de Lausanne will highlight Jaques-Dalcroze's talent as a composer, performing the Concerto no2 "Poem"At the Casino de Montbenon, on November 29, under the baton of Marc Leroy-Calatayud, with soloist Alexandra Soumm.
Alongside these events, an exhibition will look back at the life and work of the artist and teacher. Hellerau, the workshop of future art, focuses on the performing arts research laboratory created on the bangs of the Hellerau garden city. It will be accompanied by a second exhibition, Emile Jaques-Dalcroze: music in motionwhich presents various aspects of his work. In addition, a collective work, Hellerau, a revolutionhighlights Jaques-Dalcroze's impact on the performing arts from the 20th century to the present day (to be published this autumn by Editions Slatkine).
