Resignation of OSR Chairman
The president of the Fondation de l'Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Metin Arditi, has announced his resignation as of June 30, 2013.
His activities with the Fondation Les Instruments de la Paix-Genève, coupled with his appointment to UNESCO as Goodwill Ambassador, which will involve a great deal of travel, have motivated his decision.
In the letter announcing his departure, Metin Arditi says in particular: "Everything is in place to continue providing the framework conditions for an ever more ambitious artistic development of the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande."
The OSR thanks him most warmly for the thirteen years of generous service he has given to the Orchestra.
The Foundation Board has appointed a committee to recruit the next Chairman, with a view to selecting him or her in March 2013, thus enabling the outgoing Chairman to ensure the handover over the following three months.
