Georges Moustaki has passed away
Georges Moustaki died on May 23, 2013 in Nice as a result of lung disease. He was hospitalized at La Maison du Mineur in Vence, Alpes-Maritimes.

Georges Moustaki was born Giuseppe Mustacchi to Greek parents in Alexandria (Egypt) on May 3, 1934. He chose his pseudonym in homage to Georges Brassens. He began composing songs for the greats: Piaf (he wrote her Milord), Reggiani, Barbara, Dalida, Montand, Salvador and others.
Georges Moustaki revealed himself as a performer in 1969 with Le Métèque.He composes for the cinema, and also enjoys writing, drawing and painting.He travels all over France and the world (sometimes on his motorcycle) to meet his friends, discover new ones and sing his permanent revolution everywhere.
In January 2009, Georges Moustaki took to the stage in Barcelona, explaining to the audience that his respiratory problems meant he was unable to perform. On October 14, 2011, the singer announced to the press that he was definitively unable to sing.
