Temirkanov in Montreux

Septembre Musical, the Montreux-Vevey Classical Music Festival, celebrates its 67th edition this summer with a host of celebrities, including the great conductor Yuri Temirkanov with the St. Petersburg Philharmonic.

Yuri Temirkanov will conduct the St Petersburg Philharmonic on September 11.

The festival kicks off on Saturday August 31 with an opening evening at the Auditorium Stravinsky, with Neeme Järvi conducting and Elisabeth Leonskaja at the piano, accompanied by the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande.

Legendary artists will be present: Martha Argerich on September 7, Charles Dutoit on September 5, 7 and 8, Kirill Gerstein on September 5, Daniil Trifonov on September 7, Renaud Capuçon on September 8 and Yuri Temirkanov on September 11.

The presence of prestigious symphony orchestras is also a symbol of the festival. This year, it welcomes the St. Petersburg Philharmonic on September 11, and the Royal Philharmonic of London, conducted by Charles Dutoit, for three evenings on September 5, 7 and 8.

The majority of concerts will take place at the Auditorium Stravinsky in Montreux. Others will be held at Château de Chillon, Montreux Palace, Temple St Martin and Théâtre de Vevey. In Vevey, under the auspices of the Festival, the final of the 25th Clara Haskil Competition will be held on September 12.
