Nicati's double prizes
The prestigious Nicati contemporary music competition for professional musicians has awarded three prizes, with two winners each.
The competition took place from September 9 to 14 as part of the Musikfestival Berne. Forty professional musicians applied, and the high standard of their performances led the jury, chaired by Pierre Sublet, to award each prize to two participants.
First prize went to Karolina Öhman (cello) and Gilles Grimaître (piano); second prize went to Ensemble Batida (drums and piano) and Trio SÆITENWIND (cello, accordion and saxophone). Patrick Stadler (saxophone) and Rafal Zolkos (flute) took third prize.
