Sebalter to represent Switzerland
Sebalter from Ticino, with his song "Hunter of stars", was chosen by the public to represent Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest. The two French-speaking contestants did not qualify for the semi-finals.
The Ticino native won over a majority of viewers and the jury in a show broadcast on all three SSR channels. He will defend Switzerland in Copenhagen, Denmark. The semi-finals will take place on May 6 and 8. The grand final will take place on May 10.
A total of six candidates were in the running for this national final. Among them was Christian Tschanz from Vaud, with his title In paradiseand Natacha Milan and Stéphanie Erlanger, from Geneva, with their song A land without you.
Last year, Emmelie de Forest, a 20-year-old Danish singer, won the contest in Sweden.
