A month around Bach
Dedicated to the interpretation of works by Bach, his predecessors and contemporaries, every autumn the Lausanne Bach Festival invites remarkable artists to delight lovers of early music.
This year, it will take place from October 30 to November 29, with seven concerts, two lectures, two cartes-blanches given at the HEMU in Lausanne, and an anniversary evening in honor of Michel Corboz's 80th birthday.
The concerts will feature René Jacobs and the Helsinki Baroque Orchestra, the Collegium Musicum de Lausanne, Max Emanuel Cencic accompanied by the ensemble Il Pomo d'Oro, the ensemble Il Canto di Orfeo conducted by Gianluca Capuano, Les Talens Lyriques and the Choir of the Palau de la Musica de Barcelona conducted by Christophe Rousset, and of course organist Kei Koito. An evening entitled "Œuvres pour luth et florilège de comparaisons" will be hosted by Andreas Martin (lute), Nicolas Penel (violin), Mathieu Rouquié (cello), Patrick Montan-Missirlian (harpsichord) and Denis Fedorov (organ).
Gilles Cantagrel will talk about "dramma per musica, Magnificat and Bach Companions", while Brenno Boccadoro will explore the educational mission of oratorio.
