In 2015, to mark its 40th edition, the Paléo Festival Nyon is enriching itself with projects specially designed for the occasion. The classical concert is now a well-established tradition. This year, the program is tailor-made: Rachmaninov's Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 2 and excerpts from Romeo and Julietby Prokofiev, performed by the Orchestre des Continents. This ensemble of over 90 musicians, led by Thierry Fischer, will return to the Grande Scène for a concert.

A unique collaborative project
The Orchestre des Continents, initiated at the Summer Universities in 2011, is made up of musicians from the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne (HEMU), the Haute Ecole de Musique de Genève (HEM - Geneva) and the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music at the National University of Singapore. The Orchestra will accompany the young Chinese-Swiss pianist Louis Schwizgebel-Wang. The concert will be conducted by one of Switzerland's finest conductors, Thierry Fischer, a great friend of the Festival, who successfully staged one of the very first classical concerts on the Asse grounds at the Festival in 1991. The Festival looks forward to an innovative future, broadening its artistic horizons and offering audiences a full week of discovery.

For its fortieth edition, the Paléo Festival Nyon is treating itself to a seventh day and will take place from July 20 to 26, 2015. The full Festival program will be announced on April 14, 2015 at 10 a.m. via streaming on paleo.ch.
