Cully Classique becomes Lavaux Classic

After 12 years, the Cully Classique festival changes its name to Lavaux Classic. With four concerts in Vevey and musical activities in one of the world's most beautiful landscapes, the festival extends its boundaries to the Lavaux region, while retaining its center in Cully.

The 13th edition of Lavaux Classic will take place from June 24 to July 3, 2016 under the theme "Out of Bounds" and will welcome Boris Berezovsky, Pierre-Laurent Aimard and the Borodin Quartet, among others.

Human-scale venues and privileged encounters between audiences and musicians: this has been the hallmark of Cully Classique since its creation in 2004. Every year, the event attracts over 7,000 festival-goers and welcomes some one hundred internationally renowned artists, as well as talented young musicians. Over 10 days, the festival offers 22 paying concerts in Cully and Vevey, some 30 free open-air concerts of all styles on the banks of Lake Geneva in Cully, and numerous other activities combining classical music and the discovery of Lavaux. Under the theme of "Hors limites", the 13th edition of the festival will be devoted to masterpieces which, from the Baroque period to the present day, are the result of overcoming deprivation or restriction.

Lavaux Classic offers musical strolls through the Lavaux vineyards, special encounters between musicians and winegrowers, and an exceptional concert at a local heritage site. Details of these activities will be announced on May 2.
