29th JazzOnze+
The next JazzOnze+ Festival will be held from November 2 to 6 at the Casino de Montbenon in Lausanne. On the program for this 29th edition: big names in jazz, but also a fine representation of the Swiss scene, and the inauguration of a new venue: La Datcha.
The program at Salle Paderewski is built around the great names of jazz: Gary Peacock, David Sanborn, Dave Holland, Dhafer Youssef and John Scofield, most of whom are accompanied by a new generation of musicians who are pushing the limits of their instrument: Christian McBride, Lionel Loueke, Aaron Parks, Ben Williams and Christian Sands.
Drums and the Swiss scene in the spotlight
The Casino de Montbenon will feature some of today's finest drummers: Joey Baron, Ulysses Owens, Eric Harland, Justin Faulkner and Bill Stewart. Swiss artists will light up the opening acts: Florian Favre Trio, RossetMeyerGeiger, Julian Sartorius and Amine & Hamza. The mix of jazz and new trends always has its place at EspaceJazz. Standing concerts start at 9pm.
Now run by Gilles Dupuis and a new team, the JazzOnze+ Festival Lausanne offers a new concert venue at La Datcha, where HEMU students will perform from 6pm. Friday and Saturday evenings will close with jam sessions starting at 11pm.
