Week-End Musical de Pully
The Week-End Musical de Pully (WEMP) is becoming a fixture at the start of the festival season. Since its inception in 2013, it has attracted a large audience of music lovers drawn by its bold programming.
While remaining true to its founding principles of promoting young talent and offering free admission to all concerts, the eighth edition, on May 8, 9 and 10, 2020, will feature a deluxe program: shows for all audiences, two premieres, and more than twenty concerts, including those by the revelation ensemble Ouranos, the recital by soprano Marie Lys with Sine Nomine, the presence of artists such as pianist Christian Chamorel and comedian Michel Voïta, and as an apotheosis - but still with free admission! -the legendary Nelson Goerner.
Several of the guest artists will also be leading master classes or workshops, including the Ouranos ensemble, Christian Chamorel and Alice Piazza. As for the Ecole de Musique de Pully, it will be celebrating its 40th anniversary during the festival with a show, I still want to watch the rain fallcommissioned from composer Ezko Kikoutchi and librettist Stéphane Blok.
