Culture and tourism
In an innovative move, the canton of Valais is seeking to forge links between culture and tourism through a website, magazine and cell phone application.
On May 8, the Culture Valais platform, in collaboration with ECAV and HES-SO Valais, organized the Culture and Tourism Day at Théâtre Les Halles in Sierre. Nearly 170 representatives from the worlds of culture and tourism took part, sharing their desire to forge synergies between the two fields. Since the event, the "Culture and TourismThe "Culture Valais" section of the Culture Valais platform website presents an overview of cultural offers available to tourism providers.
To mark Culture and Tourism Day, the Culture Valais platform has launched its first "Cultus" magazine. In it, artists and cultural players from the Valais present the productions and skills they make available to tourism projects. The magazine is available free of charge from the Culture Valais platform, and can also be consulted online.
Finally, a "Culture Valais" app is available to download free of charge from the App Store or Google Play. In addition to cultural events, it also features "Heritage treasures", news and a "Faces of culture" section. In all, over 1,000 items of information.
