The Revue Musicale Suisse (RMS) was not spared by the systematic decline in advertising in the print media, and had to face financial difficulties. The members of the Revue Musicale Suisse Association saw no possible solution to offset the deficits. In September 2014, they decided to abandon the Revue's print edition by the end of the year and retain only its name as a web platform.

However, a solution has now been found that will allow RMS to continue in print, and which will also provide it with financial security: RMS will be taken over by NZZ Fachmedia AG, the newly formed specialist magazine division of Neue Zürcher Zeitung. RMS will be published nine times a year instead of eleven.

At an extraordinary meeting of delegates, the association decided to hand over RMS to this new company as of January 1, 2015. At the same time, it decided to liquidate the company.
